Metroid Prime (Phase 1)
Moveset:
Power Beam: Shoots a yellow beam that damages the target
Wave Beam: Shoots a purple beam that disables the target's Visor systems
Ice Beam: Shoots a white beam that freezes the target
Plasma Beam: Shoots a red beam that burns the target for a few seconds
Charges at the target, is impervious to damage during this attack
Multi-Missile Beam: Shoots purple projectiles in an arc that explode on impact
Particle Wave Projector: Shoots two colored orbs at the target. Effects are similar to the beam attacks
Ultrafrigid Breath: Shoots a stream of icicles along the ground that freeze the target upon contact
Swipes with its appendages if the target gets too close
Lunges its head out if the target gets too close
Snare Beam: Pulls in the target using two green beams

Metroid Prime (Phase 2)
Moveset:
Summons a shockwave at its current position
Lunges its head outward, damaging anyone close to it
Summons a pool of Phazon and sometimes Tallon Metroids, Hunter Metroids or Fission Metroids
Shift visibility between Combat/Scan, Thermal or X-Ray Visors

In phase 1, Metroid Prime will glow different colors which determine which beam it is weak to (yellow: Power, purple, Wave, white: Ice, red: Plasma). If you have the optional Wavebuster, Ice Spreader and/or Flamethrower upgrades and an ample amount of missiles, you can rapidly damage Metroid Prime each time it is vulnerable (Ice Spreader in particular can freeze the boss temporarily). Be sure to go into Morph Ball and hide in the channels in the floor when it charges across the room. When it pulls you in with snare beam, either boost ball away or place a bomb near its mouth. Each time Metroid Prime takes enough damage, it will fall to another arena with a different layout of floor channels. Eventually the next phase will begin.

In phase 2, the core essence is revealed and it is immune to all your attacks. The only way to damage it is to wait until it summons a pool of Phazon, which you stand in to activate hypermode which lets you use the Phazon Beam on it. Metroid Prime in this phase can shift between which visor can see it so be sure to have the correct visor on before attacking. The Metroids that it summons can be defeated instantly with Phazon Beam so it is best to take them out before attacking Metroid Prime.
