Are you looking for a free application that can actively protect your from virus, spyware, and more? Microsoft thought so too and devolved Microsoft Security Essentials or MSE. MSE, currently in beta, is a free security suite designed to be lightweight solution for the 50-60% of computer uses who don't have any protection. Overall, it does an OK job but there are better security solutions out there.
