Deep in the ancient forest of Irollan, a meeting is set to take place between the three families that safekeep the Blade of Binding; Lasir of the Elves, Edric of the Griffin Empire, and Delara of the Silver Cities.
But before the talks can start, the site is suddenly attacked by demons. With the adults slain, the five children of the families are forced to flee through the unstable portal. Godric is presumed dead when he stays back to hold off the demon Azexes, and Anwen disappears into the trees to bide her time.
