Minecraft 1.11 Multi Shulker Box Swapper Tutorial
127I've been playing more with the new 1.11 Snapshot, and have created a machine that lets you swap through 30 Shulker Boxes, showing 5 at a time.
This is somewhat similar to a similar mechanism that Etho built, but his swaps through 8 Shulker Boxes, showing one at a time. His video can be watched here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqtvNtuMWh8
My machine uses Minecarts with Chests (the original mobile inventory) to store the Shulker Boxes when they aren't being displayed for use.
When you press the button, pistons from above break the shulker boxes which are collected by hoppers. As the pistons retract again, the hoppers are locked again as new shulker boxes are dispensed from dispensers behind where the boxes are displayed. Meanwhile, a set of four hopper minecarts are shifted along a rail, with the first one line line passing over a set of hoppers to refill the dispensors with the next set of Shulker Boxes to display, and since it is now empty, is goes and picks up from the hoppers the Shulker Boxes that were just broken. When the Shulker Boxes are safely in the Chest Minecart, a note block makes a sound letting you know it is safe to swap the Shulker Boxes again!
You can remove some of the Shulker Boxes and take them with you, and the system will continue to work, so this is a good way to have a storage system for you Shulker Boxes.
