17w45b is surprisingly fun with commands.
You can literally translate redstone to sheep colors using the new execute store

here is how to do the command:
/execute store result entity @e[type=sheep,limit=1,sort=nearest] Color byte 1 run data get block ~ ~-1 ~ OutputSignal 1

place it in an always active repeating commandblock, above a comparator.
Spawn in a sheep closeby, then alter the redstone signal in the comparator to see the changes. EASY!
