In hindsight, I would not really recommend building this staircase in the sequence I did. The sheets of water falling from above actually make a lot of difference to the whole composition, so you should really make sure that works the way you want before you finalise everything else. In this instance, everything worked out as planned, but that doesn't always happen. Sometimes when you build something, you find that you failed to anticipate some aspect of the design, and that's why it's better to test the design first and to try out different options.
