This is a video with my strategies for all 10 rounds of the cucco minigame, in a speedrun for minish cap 100%. This not only requires clearing all the minigames for a heart piece, but you also get a ton of rupees from this minigame, and rupees are especially important in 100%. These are strategies I came up with that, as reliably as feasible, clear not only the required cucco counts, but also maximizes how much money Link gets from these minigames. Throughout the full game run, I can afford to miss 1-2 white cuccos throughout these minigames (since it's only 10-20 rupees) as long as I still clear the required cucco count for each round; otherwise I lose significant time.

Each white cucco gives 10 rupees, and each gold one 50 rupees. As a result, I prioritize going for gold ones if I can.

Round 1 is completed right after beating Deepwood Shrine. Round 2 is immediately after fusing two elements into the white sword and reading the castor wilds sign. Round 3-5 are completed after getting the wake up shroom. Round 6 is completed after Fortress of Winds. Round 7-10 are all in post-game (and the runner should get the bell heart piece during one of these rounds).

After tossing a cucco, I frequently move slightly to the side. This is to manipulate the cucco in running away from me in a favorable direction, since they always run in the opposite direction, and I usually want them to flee towards the fence (which is diagonally, usually).

Ideal cucco counts:
Round 1 (0:00) : 2 gold = 100 rupees (clean picolyte shop too)
Round 2 (0:42) : 1 white + 2 gold = 110 rupees
Round 3 (1:21): 4 white + 1 gold = 90 rupees
Round 4 (2:06): 5 white + 2 gold = 150 rupees
Round 5 (3:06): 3 white + 3 gold = 180 rupees
Round 6 (4:10): 3 white + 3 gold = 180 rupees
Round 7 (5:09): 5 white + 2 gold = 150 rupees
Round 8 (6:14): 4 white + 4 gold = 240 rupees
Round 9 (7:29): 2 white = 20 rupees
Round 10 (8:37): 1 white + 2 gold = 110 rupees
