After testing Hearblur's F-14B turning performance and hearing that it uses publicly available aero data, I went on hunting for the said data. To my surprise I found quite a few species of the F-teen series developed for FlightGear/JSBSim in a way similar to what DCS (or BMS) usually seem to employ. Previously I was always writing off JSBSim as a primitive FDM, I must admit, but digging deeper showed that it's capable of results at least on par with BMS.

So, here are my attempts to achieve whereabouts of the same turning rates the Heatblur module capable of.
Long story short, I can barely do a full turn in 20 seconds in it, let alone 13 - 14 or even 15. And that's, folks, what I call "believable" when it comes to the Tomcat.

His F-15s are also worth checking out. And then there is also the F-16 set by other developers based on NASA TP-1538 (all of these can be downloaded from within the FG interface too).
After you try these, you might change your opinion of FlightGear and JSBSim drastically. Too bad it still looks crappy... But there is also an alternative rendered called "Rembrandt". That one yields better results.

If you take a glance at the gallery, it's not all that bad looking: https://www.flightgear.org/about/gallery-v2-10/
