My "benchmark" is compromised?
Lately I started noticing "non canon" Ace AI behavior, especially on the Fighter Sweep tasking. The bots tends to turn tail and run for it, but once I'm catching up to them, they are attempting the "coast and he'll fly right by" routine, which is, honestly, very naive.
Close Air Patrol bots, on the other hand, are very aggressive and seem to be good fighters, yet they have this moronic habit to them of opening fire right in your face during the merge... I hope there's no need to explain how suicidal that is (for them as well). It's not that the "face hunting" behavior prevents from killing them, but it does draw out the engagement while introducing too much "statistical noise" for these dogfights to be useful for research purposes.
The bots with the Intercept task are much closer to how I need them to behave for my "benchmarking", but even they decide I should give them chase on occasion... Also, it looks like they are highly susceptible to this particular tactics shown here.
Now I'm unsure what to do about this test... Maybe I'll try sticking to the old tactics (they might try fleeing, wasting my time), or I could try giving them 30% fuel or maybe the same 1'700 lbs I have on my Mirage.
