Mirror's Edge Catalyst - glitches and observations

Just some casual glitches and observations from my playthrough of this game. Some of these might already be known, and most of them are definitely not very useful in any sense. But hey... glitches.

This was played on the unpatched PS4-version.

0:00 - you can block the screen with the white graphical overlay from Options-menu if you select 'retry from last checkpoint' and press 'accept' and 'cancel' simultaneously. The white overlay stays there indefinitely - even over a death - until you open Options-menu again and use 'retry from last checkpoint' sub-menu again.

0:30 - if you start a mission right as you hit the bottom of a pit, Faith becomes free to move during the pre-mission cutscenes. I only really tested it in this area, not sure if there's anything else you can do with it.

1:00 - you can overlap Pause-menu and pre-rendered cutscenes in areas where a cutscene like that starts from a prompt... just press the two buttons 'accept' and 'Pause' simultaneously.

This allows you to browse the menu while the pre-rendered cutscene is playing. Graphics are overlapped during this time too. However, you can't activate anything inside the menu - the cutscene eats most of your relevant input. You can't skip the cutscene while inside the menu either.

Closing the menu during the cutscene just ends the glitch. Waiting it out also doesn't do anything too special.

2:08 - I glitched a bit with the 'create challenge' error message. You can buffer it over most animations and even combine it with animations in some cases.

Here's jumping to a mattress with the message buffered. It overlaps with the soft landing animation, looking slightly strange.

2:25 - same, except falling from a smaller height on solid ground.

2:36 - Faith's mirror image also behaves strangely if you buffer the error message. It's not seen on the video, but kicking with the message buffered looks especially strange.

(Not on the vid: you can also buffer the message while entering in-game cutscenes. This makes the cutscene play out like normal, but you can see the small error message window on Faith's right hand whenever it appears on the screen.)

2:50 - I jumped backwards and coiled while inside an elevator, and eventually got stuck in the coil pose inside a wall permanently.

Me trying this out was probably inspired by Mirror's Edge speedruns, where a similar motion lets you escape from elevators... well, anyway.

3:35 - bonus bug: an enemy's gun got fused inside a wall after kicking him down.
