You are tasked with allocating mana and deploy mages, guards, and shields to withstand several events chipping away at the World Tree's life force. If you die, you return to the beginning to try again. Every time you achieve a milestone, you unlock a passive bonus to hopefully make the next run easier until you finally make it past the storm. This is a very simple and bare bones experience burdened with several text issues and choice bugs that makes some events incorrectly marked (events will act differently if you select the same prompt as before), resulting in random chance screwing you over. In the later portions, the sheer luck of the dice roll can have four similar events destroy your defenses (four raids or four hits to the shield) and instantly wipe you out even with max building strength. This is easier to deal with once you use the proper artifacts and achieve multiple milestones, but something to note regardless. The main concern is with the price, which is too much for the rather simple premise. The presentation is lovely and the story has some interesting aspects once you start collect journal pages, but it boils down to a trial and error engagement mixed with random chance. Once the event issues are fixed, I could see this being okay on a steep sale, but it is just not a lot of meat for the asking price.
