Now it comes to this. Welcome to the finale.
We now reach the WWW base but to reach further, we got to disable some locks. Lucky for us, we have plenty of help courtesy of our friends. Every person that we've encountered are here to help Lan out. Eventually we meet up against Wily's right hand man Yahoot. He has the NetNavi MagicMan.EXE and is a dangerous foe.
Make sure you save before the fight just in case because if you get a game over, you will lose a lot of progress. So anyway even though we beat MagicMan, he decides to be cheap and deliver a killing blow. ProtoMan arrives too late as Mayl and Chaud arrive. Chaud hands Lan the Hub.bat program and it's then Dr. Yuichiro Hikari reveals something to his son. Turns out Lan wasn't an only child. He had a twin brother named Hub who died when he was an infant due to his poor heart. Dr. Hikari also was working on the Navi Project, designed to graft a human's DNA & soul into a NetNavi. It also took the data and made it able to adapt to whatever situation. Yuichiro only created 95% when Lan and Hub were born.
After Hub's death, Yuichiro decided to use Hub's DNA to create Megaman.EXE. In turn he gave that Navi to Lan. Due to Lan and Hub being twins, they developed a bond that perfected the project. He then realized that if his exact DNA was used, the twins would sense each other's pain, both in and out. So he modified Hub's DNA by .001% and that ended up becoming Hub.bat. It would be used as a last resort and that last resort happened as Lan, now knowing the truth, used it to save his NetNavi, no, his twin brother. He is finally saved and now the two head to face off against Wily.
It's revealed that 30 years ago, two individuals at SciLab would have an opportunity to have their projects funded. One of them was Dr. Wily who focused more on robotics. In the end, Dr. Hikari was chosen leaving Wily bitter and vengeful. He would leave SciLab and form World 3 in the hopes of getting revenge against Dr. Hikari and the world. The fight is finally on.
The Lifevirus is the final boss of the game. It has 1000 HP and a barrier that absorbs up to 100 damage. By this point, you should have battlechips that can wipe out his barrier. Weapons like MegaCannon, FighterSword and even some powerful Navi chips can help turn the tide. It has a variety of attacks such as a wide slash that covers two columns, a laser that hits the middle and several smaller viruses that use elemental attacks. Keep your chin up and you should do just fine.
With the LifeVirus defeated, the world is saved and Wily in a manner that is so predictable decides to go down with his base. How sad. Everyone else escapes and things are back to normal... until a new threat arises.
This concludes Mega Man Battle Network. It's a game that is still solid but it feels really slow. If you want to experience it, it's recommend you turn on Buster MAX so that way the journey can be at most better. Or not and challenge yourself. I don't plan on doing the post game. Why? Because in order to take on the true final boss, you need to find all 174 battlechips and that would take hours, if not weeks to get everything. No thanks.
