71Most PS4 games have a Free PS5 Upgrade.
99.9% of the Free PS5 Upgrades are a function built into the disc so that when you insert your PS4 disc into your PS5 you have an option to either install the PS4 version OR click the little box to the right that says "Free PS5 Upgrade" which takes you to the Playstation Store where you download the full PS5 game file.
Once downloaded, you can play the PS5 version of the game so long as you have the PS4 disc in your console.
(This is how the PS3 to PS4 Upgrade worked only they made you pay $10. Sp you still needed the PS3 disc in your PS4 to play the downloaded PS4 version. It wasn't a good deal back then).

Despite being advertised by most retailers as the usual "Free PS5 Upgrade".
Technically not untrue but incredibly misleading as every other game with that feature does it differently.
So right now, you can walk into your local game shop that accepts returns, pick up the PS4 version, enter the one-off code, return the game to the store, and as long as you have MW2 on disc, you're good.
Super scummy.
The PS4 version might be the same but it's gonna take a whole day to download the update so who knows.
