As part of the Planar Decal Workflow, Mesh Paint has received a variety of updates and many bug fixes. You can now edit the rotation and offset distance of a placed item with useful in-viewport handles. In the past, you had to have the item you want to place on selected. Now you can define the specific mesh you want to use for placement simplifying usage of the tool. Mesh Paint has the ability to place replicas instead of regular meshes. However, now, in Mesh Paint Replica mode, you can return at any time to edit the placement of your previously placed meshes since Replicators use particles to persistently store their location information.
