Some people just love to deny reality, don't they?

// Money is not real.

Quite an opener to deny reality, isn't it?

// It's a legal construct that exists as a number in a computer.

No, I'm pretty sure I hold money in my wallet. They're not just some "legal constructs," and even if they are, I need them for my life.

// Your rights to it exist only so long as the sovereign power that created and regulates it permits it.

So what? That doesn't mean I should just throw it out and say screw the government and the whole concept of capitalism.

By the way, this wild idea stemmed from this thread that talked about how people's inheritance should entirely be given to the government. How awfully generous of you to assume that the government is using taxpayer dollars wisely. Not happening in my country. That's for sure.

// Imagine if we could use that money for the greater good.

(The Greater Good)

That implies that the government is willing to use that money for the greater good (the greater good) and that you have genuine faith that the government will use that money for the greater good (The Greater Good STOP IT).

// It is human nature to hoard wealth and resources within an extended family structure. The entire purpose of civilization is to counter our base instincts for the common good.

Yeah, sorry to say this, but we are not obligated to help other people unless they offer us something in return. To even consider the idea of 100% inheritance tax is putting way too much faith on the government in actually spending the money better, and that's just not reality.

"You're not living in reality. You're totally detached from reality."
