Mortal Kombat playthrough (SEGA Genesis) (1CC)
Playthrough with Rayden. Released in 1993, the Genesis port of Mortal Kombat is quite good -but it caused a lot of controversy at the time due to it having a code to turn the blood and arcade fatalities on. Without the code, there is no blood, and several fatalities are changed so they don't kill the opponent. But with the code on, all the violence from the arcade version is there. This instantly made the Genesis version more popular than the SNES port, which had no blood code.
Another good thing about the Genesis version is that the game's difficulty has been toned down when compared to the arcade version. The default difficult for this port actually is easy, I changed it to medium. I have never been able to beat the arcade version with anyone other than Sub-Zero, so being able to use a different character for this version was nice. Goro can still be a pain to beat, but everyone else isn't that bad.
In the arcade version, Rayden's name was spelt Raiden. For the console ports, it got changed to Rayden. From what I've read, this had something to do with the shoot 'em up game series Raiden:
