Playthrough with Balrog. Revival is a port of Super Street Fighter II Turbo, which features new art, new backgrounds and two playable versions of Akuma. It's also much easier than the arcade version. It unfortunately also has a ton of slow-down, bugs and glitches, making it one of the worst Street Fighter games Capcom have ever released.

The version I am playing is the version released for the Wii U virtual console. The reason I'm using this version is because the original GBA cart* has a game-breaking glitch on it - if you meet the requirements to fight Akuma, the game will crash during Akuma's pre-fight dialogue, and cause permanent damage to the game's save data, effecting the times of the survival mode. The Wii U version fixes this, and you can fight Akuma without any issues. Unfortunately it doesn't fix any of the other problems, such as three of the bosses having the wrong win quotes -as you can see in this playthrough, Balrog has the win quote that belongs to Bison. Any of the other issues are still present.

There is an extra option in this game that simplifies the special moves, which I turned on. By using this, you can do things such as throwing a hadouken just by pressing forward and punch, and you don't need to charge moves like Guile's sonic boom any more -just press left, right & punch and you'll get the move straight away. All of the super combo inputs are done by pressing the A and B buttons together. This is really useful for Balrog.

Despite all of the negatives, I do like all the new art in this game, and the endings were given new text. One of the reasons I used Balrog is because his ending was actually changed -in his original ending, he becomes rich and successful, but in this game, he makes a mess of things and loses all his fight money. Despite this, his ending music wasn't changed, making it sound pretty upbeat for the poor guy.

*This glitch is not in the Japanese verison of the game.
