Playthrough with Nina. Tekken Advance is kind of like Tekken 3, but the polygons have been replaced with sprites. If SEGA did it with Virtua Fighter 2 on the Genesis, I guess Namco can do it, too. It's not that bad, actually -it plays reasonably well, despite the controls being simplified. You a punch button, and a kick button, whilst there's also a button just for throws. The lack of attack buttons makes some combos much easier to do, I managed to pull of Nina's 10 hit combo a few times.

One downside is that the cast has been greatly cut down compared to Tekken 3. There's only one unlockable character: Heihachi, who's also the game's one and only boss. You can unlock him by beating the game with every character. Actually does anyone know if this game is meant to have battery backup? Because my cart never saves time attack or character usage data. There's meant to be a cheat code to unlock Heihachi, but I could never get it to work.

I wasn't expecting too much from this, especially after how badly Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat turned out on the GBA, but Tekken Advance is alright.
