STRYKER PLAYTHROUGH

Stryker is mostly similar to his Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 form. He doesn’t gain any new animation, but gain two new moves.

Stryker arsenal are all related to modern weaponry and his police training. He can use his baton for two moves. His Rushing Attack consist of going straight to his opponent and if he connects, he will throw him with his baton. His other move is his Baton Takedown, which is a more damaging variant of a regular sweep. As a projectile, Stryker use grenade. He can throw them high or low, and there is no way to know which one he does at the beginning. His two new moves are variants of the grenade toss. Instead of one, he will throw two at the same time, either high or low, but he will have a longer recovery time. His most infamous move in UMK3 and MKT is his Gun. He will crouch and shoot in front of him, pushing his character away and causing them to use their fatality yell. He has four combos, but two of them will cause his opponent to be launch in the air.

Against the CPU, Stryker is pretty strong. Using any launch combo, he can fire his gun while the opponent is airborne. Doing so, they will stagger back but stay in the air for a few seconds. Stryker than can run and perform a wide variety of move in order to do more juggles. It is possible to repeat a pattern which consist of a jump kick, a single punch and his Gun move. However, dues to the balancing in MKT, it is very hard to do it more than two time, but is not impossible. Outside of that, all variation of his grenade can be good counter to airborne opponent, but the double variation is mostly used when it end the round, since Stryker’s recovery time is long. Both of his baton move are mostly useless against the CPU, as they seems to be programmed to block it in most circumstances.

As a side note, Stryker Gun move is the only move of a non-boss character they will cause the opponent to use its fatality scream when hit. However, Goro and Kintaro will stay silent while Shao Khan will use his regular hit sound. Motaro is immune from the Gun move. This also apply in UMK3.
