My absolute (2.1) peak. Or rather, *our* peak. Motion Blur is absolutely one of the best layouts I’ve ever been able to create, and one of my most ambitious projects to date. I co-created this layout with @RaptorEediot , a really close friend of mine, for a long time. We began discussions of this layout back in late April of 2023, and to think we’ve come this far is genuinely an incredible feat. Every gameplay change, block, sync element, click, and timing was thought of with the utmost care and precision, to make sure that it was as solid and consistent as possible. It is in my honest opinion my MOST fun and enjoyable layout I’ve ever made. Raptor and I took turns on different parts of the level, with Raptor choosing the song, setting the theme, and building the intro/slow parts, while I built the 2 drops and most duals. For this layout, we both took inspiration from many 2.1 gameplay creators such as Loltad, gmdmann, Marwec, and many others, while also keeping to our own unique combined style (we taught each other a lot throughout the process). I would say this layout is the perfect accompaniment to Glacial Spark; it not only uses a Newgrounds song, but isn’t timing based, is bright and energetic, not every single secret way is patched, and was made by 2 people instead of one. I would still say both layouts are my proudest projects I’ve ever worked on, and I couldn’t be happier to make these kinds of ambitious layouts for you all. I genuinely hope you enjoy this layout as much as we’ve enjoyed making it. This is my last official 2.1 layout, and I genuinely can’t wait to see what 2.2 brings very soon.
