Movie Review: Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers (2022)
Now I was never some huge fan of the original series, only really remembering the Opening from when I was younger, the series was running when I was 1-3 years old. And would see an episode here or there on reruns. So some of the more nostalgic factor effects wouldn't work on me. Or if they were done wrong wouldn't bother me. So I'll just grade the film as I saw it, although CaD did much more then RRs and were around long before it, and after it, so I guess in this Universe they ignore that.
The film uses a lot of sight gags and "member berries" for it's humor. Which is much better then the usual stuff you'd see in a Seth Rogan staring film. The few jokes that stuck were mostly just taking shots at Hollywood in general, although I'll admit I never laughed at the film, just grunted at one moment. But for the life of me, I can't remember what that moment was, so it must not have been memorable. Not the typical "kiddie" film or even a "pot head" one, the latter being because Rogan is involved. It's really just a forgettable film to toss on for an hour. The voices while being distracting in the trailer, after the first few minutes I just got used to them. I was more distracted by the lack of Disney Canon then anything. Explaining more would spoil the film, so I'll just say this. The film probably hits harder for those whom actually remember the series and look back on it fondly. I give it a C- and will probably never watch it again.
