19Police officer Sheila is conducting an investigation into criminal activities concerning a drug and arms dealer known in the underworld as "Mad Dog".
Concerned about the negative implications of this investigation (which could land him and his entire organization directly in jail for a very long time), Mad Dog decides to exploit the kidnapping card.
With Sheila in his custody, the evil criminal would easily be able to make the dossier incriminating him of numerous crimes disappear, and then, subsequently, kill the policewoman in peace.
The news quickly makes the rounds throughout the city, reaching the ears of his brother Axel and his best friend Miles in a very short time.
Together they will have to put all their energy into it and show off all the martial arts talents they have acquired over the years as neighborhood vigilantes.
Breaking up Mad Dog's gang and rescuing Sheila from its clutches will be no easy task.
A side-scrolling fighting game in the mold of "Final Fight," "Double Dragon," "The Combatribes," and many others.Mug Smashers features a rather bizarre set of protagonists who would somehow seem almost "alien" to the fighting genre.
With the movement of the joystick lever, you can move the characters on the screen. The first button (A) is for attacking enemies with fists,the second button (B) is for performing a jump in the air, and the third button (C) is for attacking enemies with kicks.
There is the usual array of fighting moves available to each player and the occasional chance to pick up weapons (such as knives, bars, and a gun).
As you progress through the various levels you will encounter numerous gangsters and street thugs who will assault you with knives, hammers, and other dangerous weapons (as well as with their bare hands of course).
Many objects are scattered around the various scenarios and can be destroyed to retrieve weapons, items for points, or be used themselves as blunt weapons.
There is a time limit to finish each level, after which one life is lost. At the end of the level there is the classic boss fight, which is much stronger than the standard enemies.
The game can be played alone or with a friend.
