Mugig Lapel Lavalier Microphone - unboxing, test & review
Buy from Amazon: http://geni.us/MugigLav
In this video I'm testing and reviewing the Mugig M-3 lav mic.
The mic is an omni-directional electret type lavalier that takes its power from the plugin or electret power supplied by most camcorders or recording devices that work with a 3.5mm jack socket.
The mic comes wired with a 3.5mm TRRS jack, which means it's directly compatible with devices such as smartphones or any device that conforms to the CTIA wiring standard via a TRRS 4 pole 3.5mm jack.
In the package you also get a TRRS to TRS 3.5mm female to 3.5mm male jack adaptor, which allows use with camcorders, DSLR cameras or any recording device that accepts a 3.5mm jack and can provide plugin or electret power.
The package also contains two spare foam shields a carry bag, manuals and a Velcro cable tidy.
The mic itself doesn't sound bad and on its own would be well worth the asking price of around £8. But when you factor in all the other extras, including the TRRS to TRS jack cable adaptor, it makes this microphone's package excellent value for money and possibly one of the all round best cheap lav mics that you can buy for vlogging and YouTube video production.
For the indoor mic test I'm using a Sony FDR-AX100 camcorder and connecting the microphone via its TRRS to TRS adaptor cable and the outdoor test is done on a Samsung Galaxy S9+ with the mic plugged in directly with its standard TRRS connector.
Both examples should be good enough for showing the mic as a cheap vlogging and YouTube dialogue lav microphone.
