Engineers are a thing in bigrock and in a number of other maps as well.
Engineers come in 4 variants - one that teleports in and builds a teleporter, one that doesn't teleport in and builds a teleporter, one that teleports in but doesn't build a teleporter and one that just walks in and makes a sentry.

Teleporting engineers are best suited to engineer missions, non teleporting engineers should be a support spawn.

Do be careful when using engineers as they can cause a lot of trouble, their sentries can make cash collection much harder and make pushing back the robots more difficult. Their teleporters cut travel times of new spawns to the front lines potentially by a lot.
Engineers should have the wave planned around them.
Ohh and teleporters and Giant with giant medic combos don't tend to end well.
