MVM Mission Making Tutorial Clip 9: Dangerous Robots
Certain Robots tend to stand above their fellow giants/standard robots. Thus some care should be taken when using them. Make sure not to spam these too much.
1st are samurai demomen, they hit hard, jump and charge over a long distance all while attacking mid charge. These are cool robots but don't throw too many at people at once. Else a lot of people will die real quick.
2nd are giant minigun heavies of any kind (except Heaters and one of my own custom robots.) They are tanky, they do 50% extra damage, have good tracking and they're not effected by minigun spinup slowdown. They allow for a strong push through player defenses which usually takes co-operation between a scout, engineer and heavy to topple without casualties. It's best not to have 1 show up when you haven't even reached 4 digits credits yet. They can get plenty done on their own.
3rd are giant scouts. They might be easy for people who know how to easily stop them in their tracks but they demand your constant attention. They highly punish carelessness. Thus they are often the bane of inexperienced teams. These robots do not belong in normal missions, intermediate and above are fair game though I'd recommend only using them regularly in Advanced or expert missions. (Though the final wave of an normal with a lot of cash could be a good way to introduce newer players to how they work.)
4th is a Giant Blackbox soldier. These things are another thing that tend to be very taxing for inexperienced teams. Their ability to heal almost all of their health in damage in one salvo means that you either have to dodge very well or prevent the shots from landing either through destroying them, blocking them with projectile shield or distracting them with a sentry.
5th is T_TFBot_Soldier_Burstfire which I'm using the template name for as there is another version of the giant burstfire soldier. These things hit extremely hard with clip of 8 rockets. They do X2 damage and have a crit boost. Even with full resistances it does nearly half of heavy's health in damage. These things should be used sparingly as they can kill with ease. They only really belong in Advanced or Expert missions.
