Welcome to part three (the final episode) of my adventures building a 486 for my daily gaming use! It’s one thing to cobble a bunch of parts together on a test bench, but it’s another to build a properly functioning AT tower system. In this episode I go over some of the more practical aspects of building old AT systems including power supplies, cabling, batteries, and I/O connectivity. After I get the system built, I have a look at the monitor, speakers and peripherals. And finally, I try out a few of my favorite classic DOS games on the system.

If you haven’t done so already, be sure to check out part one and two to learn more about my goals for the system, the components I chose and the testing and benchmarking I’ve done.
