My First Trial | FFXIV First Impressions 🔥
385Our Final Fantasy 14 journey continues! In today's video, I share my first impressions of The Bowl of Embers, the first trial in ffxiv!
Oh my god... BOWL of Embers... not BOWEL of Embers lol. I definitely read bowel haha, though, a bowl of embers doesn't sound great either.
Ladies and gentlemen welcome back to TinyBlueGames! Today, we are taking a look at our first trial! This was one of the pieces of content in Final Fantasy 14 that I was most excited to try, and I wasn't disappointed. The best way that I can describe it is as a single boss raid, with a regular light party. However, despite the smaller party, the encounter still felt very epic. We finally get some exposures to attacks that aren't strictly telegraphed by big orange warning rectangles and have to stay on our toes!
I think that both the best and worst part of this trial is how connected it is to the Main Scenario Quest (MSQ) story. You are presented with a very lore heavy cinematic when you enter and exit the trial. This helps to make the trial and the MSQ story feel much more connected and epic, but it is likely a big irritation for people that are simply trying to run the content to level. It will be interesting to see how much I enjoy the cinematics when running the trial again in the future.
As a relatively new ffxiv player, I have been enjoying giving my first impressions for the many different pieces of content this game has to offer. If you are interested in exploring the game yourself I suggest you check out the Final Fantasy 14 free trial. This trial lets you play the base game all the way to level 35, with no time restrictions. It was ultimately the free trial that convinced me to dive into the full game and the new Shadowbringers expansion!
