After I watched Sebastian Maniscalco's "What's Wrong With People?" act, and specifically the part about someone ringing your doorbell, I got this idea in my head to being it to life in a very literal and extreme way and I had to do it! This is my reaction to Sebastian Maniscalco's doorbell act. When your doorbell rings now, it's a totally different feeling than it used to be. Years ago, you'd be so excited to have company, you'd invite them in, set the table, have coffee, something to eat and just visit for a while. Now when your doorbell rings, you worry about who might be there. The doorbell is an interruption. You don't want to answer the door for fear of who might be there or because you just don't want company right now because you're too busy.
That's the story behind Sebastian Maniscalco's doorbell act from "What's Wrong With People?" The difference between now and years ago when someone rings your doorbell.
In Sebastian Maniscalco's doorbell bit from "What's Wrong With People?" someone rings the doorbell and the whole family freaks out. Mom's doing an army crawl, Sebastian is telling someone to go get the sword from under the couch in the living room, everyone needs to be quiet as heck, all the lights go out and you pretend that no one's home.
My idea for this was to make the whole 'stranger ringing the doorbell' bit as extreme, random and silly as possible.
To be honest though, Sebastian Maniscalco isn't wrong about how people behave and respond when someone rings your doorbell. I always wonder who would be ringing my doorbell.
