My View: State of Skyrim & Fallout 4 | "Your version isn't legitimate!" | Community Problems
I was originally just going to do a channel update about why Skyrim/Fallout 4 videos weren't out, but as I thought about some of the things going on in the community, and some of the stuff said by members of the Skyrim Modding Subreddit, Arthmoor the creator of the Unofficial patch among them, I figured there was more worth discussing.
From a Software Development and Usage standpoint, I find this concept of the "only legit version" to be rather disturbing. Yes, if you don't allow steam to update then you aren't using the legitimate version. God, legitimate version. Let's repeat that again: legitimate version.
The moment you start using a cooperate authority to justify the legitimacy of the product you purchased from them, you've gone down a rabbit hole that ends the same way it does with a Nintendrone or unthinking Nintendo Fan (no insult to regular Nintendo fans who use their brains), but it'll turn you into an Anti-consumer monster who people can't relate to.
These companies are not your friends.
