Mystic Warriors: Wrath of the Ninjas (Arcade) - Game Sample [Run n' Gun]
1A Run n' Gun game that is basically a continuation of the same ideas from Sunset Riders, made by the same team. Unfortunately, it didn’t get console ports, so it’s much less remembered nowadays.
It’s really cool that it has a stronger dramatic weight, with more cutscenes and dialogue, even some more permanent events. It starts off with one of the characters you didn’t choose getting kidnapped, so they’re no longer usable.
There’s also much more variety in gameplay between the characters — each one has a different type of shot with unique power-up levels — compared to Sunset Riders, which only had two character styles.
It’s colorful, vibrant, pure action from start to finish. I really liked it! Today, it’s available via Arcade Archives for Switch and PS4.
