N3050 Gaming Test: Fallout New Vegas. After a long dry spell, I thought we could do some low-power, ultra-cheap laptop gaming tests. Here we have the Asus Flipbook TP200SA with a N3050 Braswell (Cherry Trail) processor. This is an entry level processor clocked at 1.6Ghz to 2.1Ghz which replaces the former Bay Trail line of processors we saw in Laptops like the E15 and E14 on this site. Interestingly enough, the N2840 which became popular in cheap laptops has a 500Mhz higher clock speed in both base and turbo modes. This means, that the replacement processors are significantly less powerful than the ones before it - which is quite suprising. This site is all about gaming, and fortunately, the Cherry Trail line has 16 graphic Execution Units (EUs) where the older Bay Trail line had 4. So while the processor may be slower than its predecessor before it in many tasks, in gaming, the improved graphics core shows some improvement.
