Minecraft Story Mode - Tested on X205TA
Minecraft Story Mode - Tested on X205TA. I thought we would try the new Minecraft Story Mode game from TellTale games on our lowest laptop here. While Minecraft runs at about 30-40fps on this little laptop at 1366x768, Minecraft Story Mode has to run at 1024x768 - and that only gets us between 16-20fps. The reason is that it uses TellTale's game engine which is pretty hard on low powered CPUs, and it also has a lot of sweet post processing effects turned on - which you cannot turn off in the game. As a matter of fact it has lots of very nice effects like depth of field, bloom, high resolution shadows and other post processing effects turned on. It really has a nice look for all the minecraft blockiness that the game is. But sadly.. that really hits the framerate hard. Sorry about the FRAPS counter being offscreen. I didn't notice it when recording. Not that you could see it though as the counter ONLY shows up when there are dialogue choices. Weird. :-\
