On this episode we are looking back at Dirt Dash from Namco. Basically if you take the Ridge Racer formula, mix in some Sega Rally / Sega Rally 2...and have Namco make another arcade racing game with the DNA of Ridge Racer and the offroad racing style of Sega Rally...out pops Dirt Dash! And compared to the Ridge Racer / Rage Racer franchise...Dirt Dash is firmly in the rare and obscure retrogaming experience camp! It's one of my favorite racing video games of all time and I wanted to talk about it again!
Most every Namco video game got a port to home consoles (Ridge Racer, Tekken, etc) but for some odd reason...Dirt Dash never did. The System 22 arcade board was a powerhouse and you will see why here!
