With Need for Speed Heat on the horizon I decided to do a quick revisit of the 21 previous NFS games leading up to the launch of Heat. Here you can see Need for Speed 2, which was released in various versions in 1997. In this game I recorded a race on Pacific Spirit against AI with the McLaren F1.

As you can see Need for Speed 2 has a total of 15 cars (including bonus cars) and 8 different tracks.

The track Pacific Spirit is based on the city and surrounding area of Vancouver, where the game was developed. Here you can see a video about that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juRkaqkDfCM

I remember also seeing a developer interview about the design of this track in the past but unfortunately I can't find that video anymore.

The car lineup of NFS 2 includes several exotic cars that are not seen in a lot of racing games like the Ford GT90, Isdera 112i, Ford Indigo and Italdesign Cala.

Like all 21 main NFS games Need for Speed 2 can be played on a modern PC with Windows 10, at least when using the 3dfx graphics mode. Instructions for setting up the game can be found online.

I will attempt to show you all 21 existing NFS games before the release of Heat, so expect to see a video almost every day from now until the release of Heat and on some days even two. :)
