Evolution of Okutama Circuit in Grid (2008 - 2019) - Track History
The fourth Grid game is being released this week and there are two tracks in it that were already part of the first Grid game in 2008. One of them is Okutama Circuit. Here you can see how the track and the driving on it have evolved over the years in some fast and clean laps with heavily modified JDM cars.
Timeline:

2:46 Okutama Circuit in Grid Autosport (2014) with Mazda Panspeed RX-7
5:19 Okutama Circuit in Grid 4 (2019) with Mazda Panspeed RX-7

My original plan was to show one track in all 4 Grid games but then I realized that there actually isn't any track that appeared in all of them. There are two tracks that appeared in Grid 1, Grid Autosport and Grid 4 though, so I decided to make some compilations with those.
For Okutama Circuit I wanted to use some Japanese cars but there was again no one car that I could use in all 3 games. I did find two cars of a similar type with the same color though. :)
As you can see a few corners on this track changed a little bit from Grid 1 to Grid Autosport but not very much and from Autosport to Grid 4 there is pretty much no change.
In terms of the physics Grid 1 is clearly the most arcade one and Grid Autosport the least. When I did Grid Autosport right after Grid 1 I first flew off the track a few times because you have to slow down way more for the corners in Autosport. The new Grid 4 is probably somewhere in between the other two.
I will try to make a similar video for the other track later this week and maybe also a comparison of the new Grid with some games from other franchises.
Note: In Grid 1 I forgot to record the replay for my best lap, so the replay that is shown is from a different one, which is almost equally fast though.
