Need For Speed: Heat (2019) - Every PC Rally Game
Need For Speed: Heat by Ghost Games/EA, 2019.
Much like the previous Need For Speed: Payback, NFS Heat isn't really a rally game, but there are customisable rally-bred cars with rally part and off-road rally/rallycross events, so I'm including it here!
This game tidied up the parts that no-one really liked in Payback (the card-based upgrade system) and added a day/night choice, where night is much more risky but raises your Rep (allowing you to get car upgrades), whilst daytime is legal racing to raise cash (to afford cars).
Again, much like Payback (and Forza/The Crew games) cars can be decorated with rally-like liveries, thanks to the awesome community creating them.
Everything else about this game is similar to Payback otherwise; good sound (here you can tint the exhaust noise and do engine-swaps, if you please), nice-enough graphics (though on occasion I had to actually check it was on maximum settings, as it's just nowhere near as pretty as Forza Horizon 4, for instance; in some respects Payback looks more natural/consistent).
There's varied terrain, given it's Florida-styled location, and plenty of tasks/hidden items to find. But it's starting to feel like Need For Speed is becoming a Forza clone with a video-based storyline attached.
Once again forgive my driving in the panning cameras, as there's no TV replays to speak of!
