Annapurna Interactive released Angel Matrix's first-person shooter and puzzle platformer Neon White. The game released for Windows and Nintendo Switch on June 16, 2022. It released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Microsoft One and Xbox Series X/S on on December 13, 2022.
The player plays as a Neon and must eliminate all the demons in a level as rapidly as possible in Neon White. In the game, weapons are playing cards that can be discarded to sprint and double-jump. Let's Be Heroes & We Know the Devil authors Ryann Shannon and Aevee Bee wrote the game.
Neons are the focus of Neon White. Sinners are snatched from Hell and raced annually to clean up demons in Heaven so they can stay there. Neons wear masks that detonate if they break laws. The 100 Neons in this game compete to be the best. The player plays Assassin Neon White. His/her first game. White meets old crewmates and receives daily commands from angel Mikey. His amnesia prevents him from remembering his history.
The game features missions with multiple levels. Players must defeat all demons and reach the goal to complete a level. The player gains experience, which can reveal hidden goods and other routes in levels. Running, jumping, and picking up Soul Cards from the floor or demons propels the player through the level. Use Soul Cards as weapons. Each card includes a normal shooting mode and a throwaway special mode. You can discard the gun card to double leap. If the player dies from monster damage or falls off the map, they must restart the level. The player earns a medal for finishing a level quickly. The medals are Bronze, Gold, and Ace.
Players can chat to NPCs between levels in heaven's hub. Players can develop connections with non-playable characters and fulfill challenging objectives by improving their confidants' rankings during this phase of the game. Some games need players to acquire a particular rank before starting new missions. This rating reflects how many levels the player completed with a gold or better time medal. Play any level again to improve your time.
