0Finally made it through the season. Had a tie in there, which is considered a loss in the grand scheme of things. Had another loss toward the end caused by 3 home runs by Philly and a pitcher I could not hit off. What a crap game that was.
Got the kinks ironed out by the end for the pick off move; I feel I was not deliberate enough with the controls and simply mistimed releasing the directional. It feels unfair, but at the moment of input, that is what the NES takes and it does not allow slip ups. I also got a much better feel for the outfield finally; only took about 70 friggin games to do so, however the control of the infield is still hit or miss. I have said it over and over that the players shouldn't run away from the ball.
We like to talk about how "games in my day needed to be programmed right the first time and never get patches," well, this one really needed a friggin patch for defense AI.
