Seems that M1 is quite capable and thanks to SIMH project we can run pretty much at the same speed like the fastest VAX boxes from the past.
My setup is as follows:
- MacOS Big Sur M1
- Paralles 16.5.1 (for M1)
- Kali Linux (aarch64) inside which we run SIMH (tun/tap network)
- portforwarding SSH from NetBSD/VAX VM to Kali guest
- Xephyr connection through SSH tunnel from MacOS Big Sur

who wish to replicate.
