Whoo boy... Strip Fighter IV... with a just as ridiculous sort of "8-Bit" version set up to look like an original Game Boy title... I guess you can kinda tell what this game is mimicking to an extent... but "Strip Fighter" is not new. The game originally came out for the Turbo Grafx / PC Engine in 1993 under the name of "Strip Fighter 2". While there was never a SF1, it was a naughty parody of Street Fighter 2, but became pretty rare like generally all of Game Express' (the developers) games. Btw, if you see this video somewhere else, this is the original video.

Well, fast forward over a decade later and you have an adult doujin group who wants to recreate Strip Fighter and bring it back to gamers with a modern as well as more retro feel, and they want it to parody what's hot on the market. Their target? Street Fighter 4. The interface is somewhat similar to Street Fighter 4, but the characters and stages are surprisingly brought back from Strip Fighter 2 (with the addition of two male characters in this one), but re-imagined somewhat. It's generally a ryona fest, but the male characters can interact with the female characters, well...differently, than the female characters to each other.

Is it in poor taste? Perhaps. Is it as good as Street Fighter 4? You wish. Is it a piece of crap? Well, it's better than Strip Fighter 2...but I don't know if that's saying much. The game incorporates cancels, specials, semi-super moves, super moves, and "Strip Combos" which are the most ultimate and can be done at low health. The game is a little more simplified from Strip Fighter Four and looks and sounds decidely 8-Bit. The interface was tweaked in a way where combos are as elaborate, but characters can still execute a cool combo or two if you get creative. I avoided doing several things in this video and censored the end portion. You don't really get rated for performance in this game and since characters don't have voices, they instead use two boxes that show the characters exchanging blurbs, such as Nina saying "Shall We Dance?" or simply laughing and Yuki spelling out her screams of anguish. Delightful.
