New Book Sheds Light On Tough Tour | Forces TV
The Afghan conflict has been one of the most catalogued in the history of war. But a new account will be a first, because it is a book written by an officer commanding a company on the ground. "Company Commander" records 2nd Battalion The Parachute Regiment's six months in Sangin in 2008, one of the toughest tours imaginable, in which the battlegroup lost 15 people. It tested Major Russell Lewis's leadership skills to the limit and led to him being awarded the Military Cross. He has been talking to Forces News about his book and began by describing those six months in Sangin in 2008.
