Another disco-y track, in a similar vein as Disco Descent, except much lighter. Interestingly, despite being faster by a full twelve BPM, it was way easier to record, mainly since there weren't any tapping parts or really long sixteenth note runs. However, the parts were still pretty intricate and complex. The chorus was the hardest part.
For this song I researched how to make a Disco clean guitar tone, and I was, interestingly, able to get pretty damn close to it within POD Farm. It sounded really good, and I think it mixed in with the other instruments really well. In fact, in terms of mixing, this may be one of my cleanest mixes overall. I was able to get things to sit very well together without anything sounding out of place.
Yes, that is a shaken up set up. I've moved my studio around a little. I think this is a better set up, since, for mixing purposes, it made things much clearer. I still need to do some acoustic treatment, since the bass does crowd in the corners of the room, so the set up is not complete yet. However, for my purposes, it's working really well.
Next week, a song in an underrated game in a series I've done many covers for, mainly of variations of one idea?
