Sony has released a new system update for the PlayStation 5 which focuses on improving system performance.
In the patch notes for Version: 21.01-03.21.00, the update “improves system performance”, and nothing else. According to VGC, the update comes in at 902MB.
However, as with previous updates, it’s possible that changes have been made and just not listed in the patch notes.
For example, last month’s system update fixed a battery indicator bug, which resulted in the battery icon constantly blinking even though the controller was fully charged.
While April’s update fixed an issue with PS5 discs spinning loudly every 15-20 minutes. This was not mentioned in the patch notes, but several gamers took to Reddit to share the news.
