2The second part of Layer-Cake Desert, now with some challenging levels, not only do we have a side-scrolling level with moving Stone-Eye statues, but we also have to deal with Stone Spikes and moving platforms. This shows how challenging this game can be.

The second half of Layer-Cake Desert is where things can get a bit tricky, first up is The Walls Have Eyes, an auto-scrolling stage with moving Stone-Eye statues, and you will have to run through the first section of the level. There is a hidden exit in this level which allows you to access the secret level in Layer-Cake Desert.
Stone Spike Conveyor is the next level, I went out of order at first, when I did the 6th level and not the 5th. This level is full of Stone Spikes and moving platforms, which can be used to get through most of the level.
Now for the 6th level, Spinning Sandstones, which is where the challenge really comes in, it is full of Piranha Plants, sand geysers and rolling hills, so having a Fire Flower can help you out greatly.
Morton's Lava-Block Castle is the challenging part, as one of the Star Coins require an Ice Flower to freeze a Dry Bones, so if you have some Ice Flowers, now is the time to use it. I don't see any point explaining about the fight with Morton Koopa Jr., as he just has a hammer and sends Pokey segments at you, so it is the exact same fight than in New Super Mario Bros. U.
Slippery Rope Ladders is a challenging level, as there are Fire Piranha Plants that can melt the ice blocks, as well as some Fire Bros. at the end of the course, which can reveal a hidden Luigi for that level. Completing the level allows you to access Soda Jungle, skipping two worlds entirely.
