Hello and welcome to another PlayStation 3 exclusive sneak peek. This time I take a look at one of the more difficult games on the PS3, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.

Those that have played Ninja Gaiden Sigma already, pretty much know what this game is about. Its about a Ninja whom is on a mission to kick some asses, and along the way you will slaughter 1,000s of Ninjas and fight numerous bosses that are crazy ass hard as coffin nails!

Along the way you get to play as a few different characters. Added to this version of Ninja Gaiden 2, is the ability to play as Momiji, Rachael, and Ayane with a few added extra stages! The girls fight just as well, if not better than Ryu does, so the action can get really fierce! I love the new additions.

Also, there are other great improvements to the game making it truly the Definitive Version of Ninja Gaiden II. Not only did they add 3 new characters and new stages, but they removed the garbage areas from the old NG2 that many people complained about and those areas were reworked into the game, along with the new variable enemy AI.

Also added is the robust 5.1 DTS Sound Quality along with a PURE Uncompressed 5.1 PCM Soundtrack, taking advantage of the space on the BluRay disc that the 360 DVD disc could not afford. The graphics are also more vibrant and beautiful on the PS3 version looking far superior than the washed out look of the 360 version.

The difficulty on "Acolyte" is now more normal for an easy mode. Most people can now finally get used to the game gradually, and actually enjoy what it has to offer without banging your head against the wall in frustration and tossing the controller at the tv. WOW yeah, the game on Acolyte is actually FUN to play! Holy shit! Once you beat the game on Acolyte or on Warrior you unlock new costumes and the extremely hard mode.... and good luck beating it, because it is hard as hell!

To top it off there is also an Online Co-op mode included in this version of the game that adds hours of replayability, and even new combos to master as you and a friend work together to kill off all the enemies in each area. This is definately the best version of Ninja Gaiden II, and I cant wait to see what the future holds for the great Tecmo, Team Ninja, and the Ninja Gaiden Sigma series!

The graphics are great looking in 1080p/ 60 FPS and look overall stunning in comparison to the 360 counterpart. I am simply amazed at the difference in detail and color gamut. The PlayStation 3 version just shines in every way.

The music in the game sets the mood nicely and seems to go very well with all the action on the screen. The stages with Ryu feel like Ninja Gaiden music that fit perfectly, and stages with the girls is different also. For example the music played on Ayane stages feels like Ninja Gaiden music mixed with a Dead or Alive tune. At least it does IMO. The music is just awesome in this game!

The sound effects are typical for a Ninja/Samurai game, and overall sound pretty good. The sound of the blades clashing, or scraping against the wall sound pretty cool, and overall I think all the sounds are pretty decent.

The controls are also done very well and are pretty much spot on even though the game is so damn hard it rips me a new asshole every time I play it, but its not for the lack of controls, its just a hard ass game (unless played on Acolyte mode) until you can get used to blocking a lot and playing like crazy!

Bottom line: Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is a fantastic game with 17 stages to master, and very fun online co-op modes as well. If your looking for the best damn Ninja game on the planet, then here it is! If you own it on 360, now is the time to sell it and get the definitive version. You wont be sorry. Other than slight blood omission, the PS3 version is far superior in every way. :)

This game is in 1080p native, has Dual Shock 3 Rumble Support, Trophy support, Online support with headsets, and has awesome 5.1 DTS Surround sound along with Fully Uncompressed 5.1 PCM soundtracks!
