Recently, Nintendo issued an claim of Intellectual Property against a Reddit user's t-shirt design which involved the Palworld character Sparkit. This has raised a lot of questions since Nintendo clearly is not the owner of Sparkit. In this video I discuss the most plausible scenarios for what could have caused this DMCA and if it was even Nintendo who filed it.

The main focus of this video however, is to show how disconnected Nintendo has become with their audience and seems to have lost all their passion. Pokemon games continue to sell with Scarlet and Violet being their 3rd highest selling game (for the main line games) despite also being the lowest rated game in Pokemon history. Why is that?

This portrays core issues within the gaming space and with massive companies who find themselves in a position where they have no real competition and a loyal audience who will buy anything they make due to nostalgia and love for the franchise. As a result, the quality and progression of things like Pokemon begin to suffer, but since they continue to sell, the company sees no reason to change. This is where it becomes the consumer's fault.

Ultimately, while we can't control companies or other people, we can control ourselves. Stop consuming products you are upset with. And perhaps more importantly, we must learn to observe what other companies / products deliver so we can better understand what things like Pokemon are lacking when they have nearly unlimited resources, but aren't delivering the same quality of gameplay compared to small companies with a fraction of the funding. Palworld wins hands down with the feeling of companionship with Pals.
