Nintendo Switch - Metroid Dread - Yuzu - GTX 1650 - Test 40-60 FPS!
I get asked this question more than one might realize. "Can something like Metroid Dread run on the Mini Classics, cause its just a simple 2D game:)?"
The answer is No, never, ain't possible, never gonna happen, unfortunately. Just because a game is 2D, or even pseudo 3D, means absolutely nothing when it comes to its ability to be emulated on any given specific platform. It is all about the assets, graphics libraries, and other such factors, more so than how "simple" a game may come across! But, luckily, if you have a decent PC and a reasonable Video Card that at least supports Open GL 4.6, you can emulate it there...for better or worse:)
Yes, Video Cards are insanely difficult to find! This is just a temporary test set-up to show how reasonably well Metroid Dread runs, even on a less spectacular Video Card, such as the GTX 1650. Steady FPS between 40-60, and quite adequate for playability with a few optimizations and tweaks, similarly to those used on the Mini Classics:) I will get more videos up. You will see Dread, Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey, and many more, running as well as they possibly can in the environment I set them up within!
Since the capacity of what the Mini Classics are capable of running is becoming increasingly more limited, I will branch out further and further...whilst still doing what I can for the Minis, so that you all can enjoy nostalgic bliss on many platforms, on top of the Minis!
