전국 블레이드

일본의 횡스크롤 슈팅 게임. 1996년 사이쿄에서 만든 전국 에이스의 속편으로, 부제 또한 'SENGOKU ACE EPISODE II'이다. 일러스트레이터는 츠카사 준. 국내를 비롯한 해외에서는 '텐가이(TENGAI)'라는 이름으로 발매되었다. 여담으로 텐가이는 이 게임의 등장인물 스님의 이름.

전작과는 달리, 게임이 횡스크롤 슈팅으로 바뀌었다. 배경 설정은 비창석의 발견으로 비행기가 없어도 날 수 있게 되어서 캐릭터들이 맨몸으로 날아다닌다고 한다.

사이쿄가 횡스크롤이라고 해도 결코 떨어지지 않는다는 것을 보여준 게임. 물론, 이 게임에도 차지샷이 나온다.

5스테이지 뒤에 분기가 있는데, 1인 플레이시에는 위쪽 루트(정면 돌파)와 아래쪽 루트(비밀 통로)의 내용과 엔딩이 다르다. 위쪽 루트의 엔딩은 개그 엔딩인 아인을 제외하고 매우 암울하다. 다만, 그나마 유니스가 제일 해피에 가까울까. 아래쪽 루트는 역시나 개그 엔딩인 아인을 제외하면 대부분이 공주를 구출하는 해피 엔딩이다. 2인 플레이에서는 어느쪽 루트를 택하건 반쯤은 개그인 아인 쇼마루 엔딩 정도를 제외하면 루트에 상관없이 동일한 해피엔딩. 또한, 사이쿄 게임인 만큼 개그 엔딩들이 상당히 많다. 그러면서 왠지 백합엔딩도 많다. 건버드 2에서 게이 엔딩이 많은 것에 대한 반동인가... 엔딩을 보고나면 하드모드 격인 2회차가 시작되며, 1회차에서 선택하지 않은 분기로 진행한다. 난이도는 1회차와 비교도 안 되게 어렵다. 탄 속도, 개수가 증가하고 반격탄이 추가되는 등의 변화가 있다.[3] 2회차까지 클리어하면 end라는 글자와 함께 진짜로 끝. 세가 세턴 버전에서는 스태프롤이 나온다.

히든 캐릭터로 나오는 아인을 고르는 방법은 물음표에서 위x3, 아래x3, 위x7을 입력하면 나온다. 또한 처음 시작할 스테이지를 고르는 꼼수도 있다. 본래 처음 스테이지 네 개는 무작위로 등장하는데, 이중 하나를 선택할 수 있다는 것이다.

이 게임이 동네 문방구 게임기에 나왔을 때, 아인은 하가네의 위력, 사정거리와 코요리의 짧은 차지 시간을 합친 모아쏘기 및 매우 막강한 위력의 폭탄인 사무라이 소드를 지니고 있었기 때문에 초딩들은 무조건 아인을 고른 뒤에 기본공격으로 때릴 생각은 안하고 무조건 '기모으기' 를 사용해 칼질만 하고 보스가 나오면 바로 폭탄을 써버린다. 고생고생하고 플레이한 주제에 엔딩이 배드 엔딩이면 허무하기 짝이 없기에 플레이어들은 난이도도 쉽고 해피엔딩인 비밀 통로 엔딩을 선호한다.

후속작으로 전국 캐논이 있다. 하지만 이 물건은 사이쿄가 X-nauts에게 인수당하면서 슈팅 제작 인원을 몽땅 해고해버리고 나온 물건이라 동인 게임 이하의 퀄리티를 자랑하며 쿠소게로써 가상의 전국 시대를 배경으로 한 사이쿄 슈팅의 종말을 가져왔다.

파워를 모두 얻었을 때일수록 적들이 내뿜는 탄의 양이 많아지고 속도가 빨라지기 때문에 일부러 적에게 닿아서 파워를 1~2개 감소시키고 플레이하는 전략을 쓸 수도 있다.


Sengoku Blade

Sengoku Blade, also known as Tengai outside Japan, is a horizontally scrolling shoot 'em up video game released for arcade machines in 1996 by Psikyo as a sequel to their 1993 shooter Sengoku Ace. A home console version was also released for the Sega Saturn. The game was ported years later to the PlayStation 2, and again for iOS and Android devices and the Nintendo Switch. The game is set in a historical fantasy version of the Sengoku period of Japanese history, featuring demons, magic and steam-powered robotics.


Gameplay

Sengoku Blade is horizontal-scrolling shoot 'em up. The game takes place in an imaginative and futuristic version of feudal Japan featuring steam-powered machinery. The Saturn version provides an option to choose a difficulty level between 1 and 7, configure controls, and set the number of lives between 1 and 4.


Story​

The game is set in the world where magic and technology co-exist. A militaristic cult Shinrano, scheming the resurrection of their dark god, has kidnapped the Shogun's daughter Princess Futsu (Futsuhime) for a sacrifice. A group of heroes sets out to stop this evil plot. The game features branching storyline and several different endings, depending on the characters chosen.


Characters​

The characters were designed by the now-famous Tsukasa Jun (at that time still an "underground" artist), based on the works of Hirofumi Nakamura in the original game. Tsukasa also returned to design the characters for the second sequel.

Tengai (Tengai Kano) (ターボ坊主 天外) - A Buddhist warrior-monk from the previous game, who has become the main character in the sequel. (Voiced by Shōzō Iizuka.)

Miko / Koyori (Koyori Togashi) (富樫こより) - a busty Shinto shrine maiden. She has become the series' symbol and a fan favourite due to her increased sex appeal in comparison to the original game. (Voiced by Maria Kawamura.)

Junis Hayate (ユーニス) - A spunky 12-year-old ninja girl with a pet lemur-like animal named Socrates. She is the younger sister of Jane from Sengoku Ace (who had disappeared at the end of the previous game, but Junis believes that she is alive and imprisoned at the Evil Castle). (Voiced by Hiroko Kasahara.)

Sho / Shoma (Shoumaru) (翔丸) - A young swordsman ninja who is in love with the kidnapped Princess Futsu and feels some crush with Koyori.[6] He wants revenge for the death of his mother and sisters.[7] During the game, it is revealed that his father is the lord of evil, Kiyatsu (the final boss of the game). (Voiced by Takehito Koyasu.)

Katana / Hagane (ハガネ) - A samurai robot attempting recover its human body. Katana is really a swordswoman called Hagane and during his ending with Junis, she reveals her first name: Kirie. (Voiced by Hōchū Ōtsuka.)

Flush (Flash) / Ayin (Shine-Ain) / Kain / Aine (せんこうのャイン) - A one-eyed archer samurai from the previous game, now as a secret character. He is looking for his sister Asuka again. (Voiced by Norio Wakamoto.)


The player may choose from five playable characters at the start and may unlocked two more. Items include a power-up to increase weapon power level, bombs, and bonus coins to increase score.
Holding down the standard shot button can provide a more powerful shot.

If the player touches an enemy ship, their weapon power level will drop by one. The player will lose a life if they get hit by an enemy bullet. If all lives are lost, continues are provided. Once the game is beaten once, a second round will begin without the ability to use continues.
