[Nioh 2] Instantaneous stance buffer + Blockstun side-splitter
A couple tricks I noticed for some time now, thrown together somewhat haphazardly in a belated celebration for Nioh 2 made accessible for PS Plus this month.
00:00 Instantaneous stance buffer
===========================
A method to switch to another stance without activating any R1 related action, just so that we could then activate R1 related action in the new stance that we ended up in. Think of it as stance buffer in pinch.
An easy example would be Spear being able to use Rainbow Ruse while ki pulsing in high stance. Similarly for Tonfa to chain Demon Dance to Pulverize while switching stances.
Performed by switching to the desired stance, and immediately pressing R1 again.
01:07 Blockstun side-splitter
===========================
Have side-splitter attuned to mid stance and whatever else in low stance. Block an attack in low stance, buffer to mid stance while in blockstun and execute side-splitter. The low stance version of side-splitter will be executed instead, and it will inherit any customisation applied from mid stance.
The converse is not true. That is, we cannot execute mid stance version of side-splitter from low stance.
