Was figuring out the job switch mid combo mechanic. Decided to test this against not Garland, since every other boss in this demo either summons minions or conjures clones.

Jobs can be switched out only when executing an ability, but is able to cancel said ability mid animation. Although some abilities demand a bit more commitment than others.

While editing this I also realised that each job has its own break gauge, and the job on standby will recover its break gauge over time.

I opted for a double Lancer setup as I like the polearm's moveset, and Lance Hurl has better utility in this battle compared to Dragoon's Jump. I did not progress far enough into Dragoon's job tree to unlock more abilities, I just went with what I had.

All attempts made are on Hard mode with a lvl 1 Halberd. Everything else I had on are most definitely over leveled.

Spliced in part of the post battle cutscene with Jed being rather "free-spirited". Playing Jed dress-up is about the only thing helping me endure the cutscenes and to a greater extent, Jed.


A little something something bout the demo...

The directional motion attacks are really unwieldy in games where the camera is always centred to the locked-on target. This game opted for a somewhat strict input window to avoid accidentally using the wrong move, but that still happens anyway. Worse is that I have to input double directional motion just so the game knows what I wanted it to do.

All in all the demo is kinda eh... not sure what to make of it. I am not particularly excited, but I did find some parts enjoyable.
